James Popejoy, Professor of Music, received the Outstanding Faculty Member Award at the annual Greek Awards Ceremony last week for his ongoing dedication and support of students across campus.  Dr. Popejoy also received this award in 2003.

The nomination stated:
“The recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Member Award is described by his nominating chapter, Pi Beta Phi, as going above and beyond his call of duty. Students can find him around campus supporting the various organizations and events his students engage in. He puts his students first, and every student leaves his presence with advice, a warm smile, a poor joke, or some appreciated encouragement that makes them feel outstanding. He has no Greek affiliation and yet is nothing but supportive of everything that the community and members do. He tries his best to attend events and always sends a genuine apologetic note if his schedule prevents him from attendance. This faculty member is able to inspire and motive every student he encounters and his students will be forever grateful to him.”
