Special Denim Spirit Day is Feb. 1

There will be a Special Denim Spirit Day on Friday, Feb. 1.

Funds received from UND’s Denim Day will go directly towards the Grand Forks Foundations for Education and their event for the remaining of the school year which is called Denim for Bus Tickets. The proceeds from our Special Denim Day will go for purchasing bus tickets for families who are facing financial difficulties and need assistance is obtaining bus tickets for their children to ride the bus to and from school. The price of tickets have risen to $10 a week and if families have more than one child in the school system, it adds up. Teachers are volunteering to provide $20 of their own money toward this project for the rest of the school year and can wear denim every Friday.

Be comfortable and wear denim and/or UND colors or clothing that day, to show your spirit. Give what you can to your Denim Day site coordinator or send your donation directly to Devona Janousek, Twamley Hall Room 204, Stop 8253. Your contributions help this organization that has a great impact in our community and others. Even if you wear denim every day, donate a dollar for these charities.

Checks should be made out to “Denim Day.” Please mark “Special Denim Day” on your the envelope and the date of Feb 1st and send to Twamley, no later than Feb 8th.
