Becky Rude celebrates retirement

Becky Rude with the Office of Extended Learning has announced her retirement as of April 30.

Program Coordinator since September 1999 for the Dietary Managers Training Course offered by the University of North Dakota (now known as the Nutrition & Foodservice Professional Training Program), Becky was been a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics teaching dietetic students since 1992.

She has authored continuing education correspondence and online courses and has worked as a consultant dietitian for a local long term care facility. She has worked in this profession for over 44 years.  Becky is an active supporter of ANFP (Association for Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals – formerly known as DMA; Dietary Managers Association).  Her participation includes positions on:  Industry Advisory Council (Chair from 2002 – 2004);  DMA Board of Directors liaison; Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (Chair – 2007 – 2012); Item Writers Committee;  Standards Committee; Professional Development Committee;  Audit/Finance Committee; Leadership Development Committee; Branding Task Force; Presenter for the Exam Review Course at the Annual Meeting; Annual Meeting Presenter; Expo Exhibitor at the Annual Meeting; authored several Dietary Manager Magazine articles; Reviewer of ANFP (DMA) Practice Standards; and author of the accompanying materials – power points – to the 2012 ANFP textbooks.  Becky developed and presented DMA’s first ever webinar in 2010.
