Bert Klamm

It is with regret that we announce the death of Roberta “Bert” Klamm, HR/Payroll Coordinator with UND Athletics.

Roberta “Bert” Kay Klamm, 56, of Thompson, ND passed away Friday, April 12, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on November 3, 1962, in Grand Forks, ND to John and Lucille Adams. She was united in marriage to Neal Klamm on June 6, 1986, and they made their home in Thompson, ND, where they raised two children, Andrew and Emily.

Bert had a passion for family, friends and UND athletics. Throughout her twenty-five years working at UND, most recently in the Athletic Department, she loved attending sporting events of any kind, but especially enjoyed football and tailgating, where her competitive nature would rise to the top.

Bert shared a great outlook on life and an amazing strength with her courageous and difficult battle, as friends and family followed her journey. It provided her with a firm understanding of what was importantthe simplicity of living a life with those you love. There was no place she would rather be than spending time with family and friends, whether it was at the lake, playing games or working out in her garden. She treasured every moment with Neal, Andrew and Emily and was “over the moon excited’ and looking so forward to being a grandma this July. She was so very proud of her kids and made them her priority each and every day. Her positive nature, her contagious smile and her kind and compassionate spirit brought out the best in everyone she met.

Bert will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband and soulmate, Neal; son, Andrew Klamm and his girlfriend, Madison; daughter, Emily (Alex) Sumner; parents, John and Lucille Adams; sister, Cindy (Dave) Lambrix; brother, Tom (Kelli) Adams; sister, Linda (Steve) Thompson; in-laws, Ellen (Larry) Leake, Larry (Vicki) Klamm, Joyce (Orris) Johnson, Jim (Mary) Klamm, John (Sharon) Klamm, Marvin (Diane) Klamm, Marilyn (Brian) Riegel, Calvin Klamm, Colleen (Curt) Fischer, Dennis (Sharon) Klamm, Charlotte (Scott) Clayton, Sharon (Blaine) Solheim and many nieces, nephews and friends that were so very special to her.
