Section of University Avenue between Harvard and Princeton Streets to close next week

University Avenue between Harvard Street and Princeton Street will be closed to traffic, both directions, starting Sunday April 28, due to the start of the City of Grand Forks project to reconstruct University Avenue. Intersections of Princeton/University and Harvard/University will remain open to traffic.

A map of the project is available here.

Detours signage will be posted to direct traffic north to 6th Ave. North, in order to pass around the construction zone. Construction work on University Avenue is starting early in 2019, in preparation to complete pavement reconstruction prior to the 2019 Fall Semester. During the closure Oxford Street will be opened to two-way traffic up to 5th Ave. North in order to access the parking lot on Oxford Street south of Bek Hall.

This week, contractors will begin to install construction safety fence along University Avenue, in preparation for the City of Grand Forks University Ave reconstruction project this summer.
