Applications due June 6 for Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences

The Division of Research and Economic Development is pleased to announce an internal competition for applicants to the 2020 Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences award. The University is only allowed to submit one application to this highly competitive program each year.  The Pew Scholars Program supports assistant professors of outstanding promise in science relevant to the advancement of human health.  The award provides $300,000 in flexible support ($75,000 per year, renewable for up to four years).  For more details on the Pew Scholars Program, visit

The UND internal deadline for applications is June 6, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.  Applications should email the following pre-proposal materials to vpr.proposals@und.edu by the deadline:

  • A research project summary
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Letter(s) of support (up to a maximum of three); one must be from the applicant’s chairperson

Applicants will be evaluated based on the quality of their proposed research project, evidence of promise based on their career accomplishments to date and letters of recommendation.

If selected, the applicant’s information will be forwarded to the Pew Charitable Trust by the University of North Dakota.  The selected applicant will be invited by Pew to submit a full application in July 2019.
