Marion Moen, retired women’s sports equipment manager for UND Athletics, Fargo passed away on May 1, 2019 at Sanford Health in Fargo surrounded by her loving family. She was 85.

Marion Bagley, the daughter of James and Olive Bagley was born July 10, 1933 in Gilby, ND. She was raised in Gilby and graduated from Gilby High School. She married Charles Moen of Gilby and they were happily married for 51 years. Marion and Chuck lived in Gilby and Inkster before moving to Grand Forks in 1997.

Marion loved her garden and flowers and was well known as a great cook and baker. Her potato salad and homemade buns were a common request at for Moen events.

Marion worked for 26 years as equipment manager for women’s sports at UND. She loved working with the athletes and was a second mom to several of the girls. She enjoyed attending all the Sioux basketball games and continued to attend them for several years after her retirement. Chuck and Marion enjoyed their retirement years by making lots of memories with their grandkids and they attended many sporting events and programs. Chuck passed away in 2002.

Marion was involved in many activities at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church in East Grand Forks and especially enjoyed making lefse every year. In 2016 Marion moved to Rosewood on Broadway where she had a good time with new friends and the staff.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; parents; brother, Robert; brothers in law, Richard and Ken; and sisters in law, Phyllis and Marian. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her children, Charles Jr., Grand Forks, Mary (Danny) Finseth, Fargo, Russell (Kim) Bemidji; grandchildren, Nathan (Kelli), Nickolas (Crystal), Craig (Kristina), Breanna and Ben (Alyssa) Moen, Kristi Duvan and Bethany Finseth; great grandchildren, Brynn, Bentley, Brandon, Kaisley, Adam, Charlotte, Holly and Charleigh; brothers in law, Butch (Janice) and John (Lori) and sisters in law, Marian L. Moen and Pat Bagley.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Rosewood on Broadway for taking such good care of her.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery of Gilby, ND. Arrangements are with Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. www.amundsonfuneralhome.com.
