Telecommunication charges will be reduced
University Information Technology (UIT) is happy to inform you that effective July 1, 2019, the Telecommunication line charge will be reduced from $21 per line to $18.50 per line for FY20. The line rate will be reassessed in FY21.
In addition to reducing the line rate, UIT will provided expanded services by including phone installs, departmental phone moves, data repairs, and phone and data activations in the line rate. Departments will no longer be required to pay for these services, however services still need to be requested using the University Information Technology ticketing system.
Long distance will also be included in the new rate and will no longer be billed separately. Authorization codes will continue to be required for long distance calls for tracking and accountability purposes.
As a reminder, funding information changes for line rates need to be made on the 16th of every month. Any funding information changes will need to be submitted by the 8th of the month. Changes submitted after the 8th will be made the following month.
