North Dakota Shakespeare performs Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth

North Dakota Shakespeare, a professional theater company, will perform Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth this June at University Park in Grand Forks.

Much Ado is a love comedy that follows two young couples in a plot of comic twists and dramatic moments. It will be performed June 11-15 at 7pm and June 16 at 2pm. A family-friendly pre-show begins 30 minutes before each performance.

Shakespeare’s tragedy, Macbeth will be performed unrehearsed, a first for North Dakota Shakespeare, on June 15 at 2pm.

“I hope that [the public] enjoy themselves and realize that Shakespeare is more accessible than they realize,” said  Stephanie Faatz Murry, producing artist director and assistant professor of theater arts at Ouachita Baptist University. “He is the master of storytelling for a reason and he is played 400 years later because he is that good at telling story.”

The 2019 North Dakota Shakespeare company members come from over 14 states and 3 countries. Several UND faculty, staff and students are also part of the cast and production crew.

All events are free admission, donations welcome. Bring your own blankets and chairs. Come hungry and enjoy a meal from Skip’s Gourmet Grub food truck!
