Special Denim Day Aug. 2 benefits American Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund

A special Denim Spirit Day on Friday, Aug. 2, will benefit the American Red Cross International Disaster Relief fund.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, the American Red Cross provides financial contributions to support international disaster relief efforts led by the global Red Cross Red Crescent Network. This enables volunteers on the ground to respond quickly and efficiently to address the most urgent needs of disaster survivors. Disaster relief (or emergency management) refers to the process of responding to a catastrophic situation, providing humanitarian aid to persons and communities who have suffered from some form of disaster.

Be comfortable and wear denim and/or UND colors or clothing that day to show your spirit. Give what you can to your Denim Day site coordinator or send your donation directly to Jade Gourneau, Twamley Hall Room 204, Stop 7155.  Your contributions help this organization that has a great impact in our community and others.  Even if you wear denim every day, donate a dollar for these charities.

Checks should be made out to “Denim Day.” Please mark “Special Denim Day” on your the envelope and the date of Aug. 2 and send to Twamley no later than Aug 9.

Want to save yourself the hassle of trying to remember if you paid every Friday or forgot your dollar? Sign up for payroll deduction at http://www1.und.edu/staff-senate/_files/docs/denimday/denimdayspayrolldeductionform.pdf and follow the instructions.
