Students, faculty and staff may ride City Areas Transit (CAT) at no charge

Thanks to agreements between UND Student Government, UND Parking, the City of Grand Forks and Cities Area Transit (CAT), students, faculty and staff may ride CAT buses throughout Grand Forks and East Grand Forks at no charge.

UND Student Government has covered student fares for several years, allowing students to ride free on the CAT bus system.

Now, UND Parking & Transportation will pay fares and allow faculty and staff to ride at no charge. UND will reimburse CAT for each ride.

The goal is to provide better access to campus, ease the demand for campus parking, reduce traffic around campus, and benefit the University community.

Riders will be asked to swipe their ID card to validate that they are a member of the University community. CAT will use rider data to ensure bus stops are in place where they are most needed.
