Food donations sought for elementary student backpack program

Greetings From the College of Education & Human Development students, staff and faculty!

Our student organization, Future Educators of UND (FEUND), is assisting Northlands Rescue Mission in providing food to elementary students in need. Each student who is signed up for the program gets a bag of food on Fridays to help them get through the weekend where they won’t have access to school breakfast and lunch. There are currently 2,900 children on free and reduced lunch in the Grand Forks schools. Many of them receive assistance through this program and any little bit helps.

We are seeking backpack program donations:

• Cereal/oatmeal
• Juice
• Fruit cups
• Nut free snacks
• Main meal: Ramen, soup, easy mac

Drop off bins are located at Education Building:  Room 26, Teacher Education Office Room 102, and main commons of the Education Building.
