Dennis Caine, Professor Emeritus of Kinesiology and Public Health Education, was invited to serve this past fall semester as Visiting Endowed Chair in Gerontology at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, Canada. In addition to departmental service and teaching a course on “Physical Activity and Aging,” Caine also gave the Annual Dr. LeRoy Creamer Lecture in both Fredericton and St. John, New Brunswick. The title of his lecture was “Don’t Fall for It – Falls Can Be Prevented!”
Dr. Caine came to UND in 2007 after a national search and served as chair of the Kinesiology and Public Health Education department and, for one year, as interim dean of the College of Education and Human Development. Although he retired in Spring 2015, he continues to conduct scholarly work and engage in professional service. He and his wife Caroline live in an active retirement community in Georgetown, Texas.
