Remembering Raymond Fischer
Raymond L. Fischer, retired professor of communication, died Nov. 29, 2019, at home after a brief illness.
He taught at UND for 27 years before his retirement in 1999. He served on the Grand Forks School Board (1977-1990) and as Director of Graduate Studies in Communication at UND (1996-1998).
Fischer was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, Pi Kappa Delta forensic fraternity, the President’s Club of Eastern Illinois University, Eastern Illinois Foundation, Grand Forks Kiwanis Club, the YMCA Heritage Club, and Calvary Lutheran Church.
Prayer Service: Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd Street, Grand Forks; visitation to follow until 9 p.m.
Service: Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1405 South 9th Street, Grand Forks.
In lieu of flowers, the Fischer family suggests donations to the Calvary Lutheran Church on behalf of the Unforgettables and the Memory Café.
