Abstracts due soon for April 3 meeting of the North Dakota Academy of Science

The deadline for submission of abstracts for the upcoming April 3 meeting of the North Dakota Academy of Science Meeting taking place at the State Museum in Bismarck this year is fast approaching!

This year, in addition to our typical Dennison awards for undergrad and graduate presenters, we have secured an additional $3,000 in award money that will be given to outstanding undergrad and graduate poster and oral presenters. Please make sure that you are working on your abstracts and that you are strongly encouraging your advisees to be working on their abstracts as well.

Not only will the awards be larger (and more plentiful) at this year’s meeting, but the meeting itself, the keynote address, and the dinner will all be taking place in the spectacular venue of the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum – with our banquet taking place in the Northern Lights Atrium!

The abstract submission form can be found at the NDAS Annual Meeting website here: http://www.ndacadsci.org/annual-meeting.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Sean Gulick from UT – Austin, will be giving our evening keynote address about new discoveries on the timing of the K-T impactor as elucidated by coring the impact site. We’re trying something new this year as well – both the keynote address and the poster sessions will be open to the general public.

We hope to see you and your students at the upcoming meeting! If you have any questions, please refer to our website, or feel free to email me directly at joseph.collette@minostateu.edu.
