Grant Adkins joins Center for Innovation as tech transfer and licensing associate

The UND Center for Innovation is pleased to announce that Grant Adkins will begin work on April 1 as the new tech transfer and licensing associate at UND.

Grant brings experience as a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent Office in Washington, D.C., as well as experience as a patent attorney. As a patent attorney, his case load included technologies such as semiconductors, polymers, oil and gas, nanofabrication, medical equipment and software from numerous U.S. and international universities.

He is a graduate of Vanderbilt Law School with a focus on intellectual property. In addition, he holds an bachelor of science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida.  Prior to law school, Grant worked as a field chemical engineer in the oil and gas industry in Western ND where he worked with clients such as ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobile and BP. He brings expertise to the Center that includes IP protection and strategy development, invention analysis, patent application evaluation, patent licensing and patent drafting.
