Student artists will hold virtual art show

“This is my isolated classroom” by Emma Klindworth

UND Art Collections will present “Free Time: It’s Not What We Thought it would Be,” a virtual art show featuring works by student artists, May 1 to June 1 online.

To many of us it seems like we have gained all of the time in the world, while losing the freedoms we once had, creating a weird dissonance within our days. We have seemingly been gifted an interminable amount of time, without the freedom to wield it. The works of art in this virtual online exhibition will invite the viewer to consider the passage of time, fr eedoms held and freedoms lost, and the role of creative expression as it relates to the two.

The artist has the freedom to interpret the themes provided. The virtual exhibition will be presented in an interactive gallery format and shared on University websites.

Online visitors will be able to “walk” through the gallery, click on works, and view information about the artist, their statement, and the art details.
