Add your phone to the fight – download the COVID-19 alert app

Add your phone to the fight against COVID-19!

Download the North Dakota Care19 Alert app to help protect the community and yourself.

The app is designed to quickly notify users of possible COVID-19 exposure while still ensuring their privacy. It will enable them to decide whether to seek medical attention or stay home. It can help UND and public health systems speed up contact tracing, manage the disease and save lives, while flattening the curve.

Privacy protection is paramount. The system does not collect, use or store device location, including for users who report positive results. Identities are not shared except with public health authorities.

The University community is encouraged to use the app, and can turn it off at any time. The more users, the more useful the app becomes. It is available in your app store.

It will let people know if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus, decreasing the amount of time needed for contact tracing. Users will be notified if their device was near another device whose user tests positive for COVID-19.

Developed in partnership with the North Dakota Department of Health and a North Dakota-based company, the free app is the only one in the state allowed to use the state’s exposure notification system.

UND hopes you will add your phone to the fight!
