Inauguration of President Armacost is Oct. 5

On Monday, Oct. 5, the greater UND community will celebrate the inauguration of Andrew P. Armacost as the 13th president of the University of North Dakota.

The private ceremony installing Armacost as the University president will take place at 2 p.m. on the UND campus. Although not open to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions, the entire ceremony will be broadcast live online. The public is invited to watch the event on the UND web page (UND.edu) and FaceBook Live. There is no charge or audience limit.

As a key part of the ceremony, Armacost will deliver his inaugural address. In addition, greetings will be offered by speakers representing faculty, staff, students, alumni, the state, the community, tribal colleges, and the North Dakota University System. There will also be a formal investiture portion of the ceremony, which will include a ceremonial conferral of the UND President’s Chain of Office.

Armacost was chosen by the State Board of Higher Education to serve as UND’s 13th president. He officially began his tenure on June 1, 2020.
