Provost and vice president for academic affairs search under way; position profile posted

UND has launched a national search for its next provost and vice president for academic affairs. The position advertisement and profile are posted, and work is under way to build a qualified pool of applicants.

A UND search committee collaborated with AGB Search to develop the advertisement and profile in concert with campus listening sessions with faculty, staff, and students to gather input about which qualifications and characteristics the provost should possess.

The profile is posted on the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs webpage.  Nominations for qualified individuals who fit the profile are encouraged, and may be submitted to AGB Search: UNDprovost@agbsearch.com.

The provost is responsible for academic coordination, fostering research and public service, and lending guidance to all aspects of teaching and learning on behalf of student success. It is the provost who must empower and delegate effectively and efficiently to implement solutions and perpetuate development for the entire UND community. The provost will pursue and engage others toward building a trusted and healthy shared governance environment.

Thanks to all who participated in the process thus far through the listening sessions. This leadership position is exceptionally important to the campus, and so the goal is to bring the successful candidate on board no later than July 1, 2021. As the search progresses over the fall and winter months, we will find every way possible to keep you informed and to facilitate your participation and input.
