Steam Plant dedication set for Wednesday

UND will dedicate its new Steam Plant on Wednesday, October 14 at 1 p.m. CDT. The event will unveil UND’s new, natural gas-powered steam plant designed to improve the energy efficiency of campus buildings and provide a better student experience.

Operated by Johnson Controls through a 40-year public-private partnership (P3) with UND, the new steam plant includes up-to-date technology expected to deliver more than $1 million per year in energy savings, provide resiliency for UND’s infrastructure and reduce the carbon footprint.

The event will be livestreamed here and we invite you to participate by viewing it online. Guest speakers include UND President Andrew Armacost, North Dakota State Sen. Ray Holmberg, Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski, North Dakota State Rep. Mark Sanford and Johnson Controls Performance InfrastructureTM VP of Sales Chuck McGinnis. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum is also slated to have a letter presented on his behalf.
