President Armacost will give State of the University address Oct. 26 at U Council meeting

University of North Dakota President Andrew Armacost will give his State of the University address on Monday, Oct. 26, 3:30 p.m. via Zoom, as part of the fall meeting of the University Council.

The meeting will also include updates from University Senate Chair Liz Legerski, as well as information on UND’s schools and colleges.

The University Council is the legislative body of the University, and consists primarily of faculty and administrators. The Council, which has delegated most of its powers to the University Senate, meets each semester. It is an opportunity for the UND president and the chair of the University Senate to update the campus community on UND’s progress.

The meeting will be available via Zoom.

According to the University of North Dakota Constitution, the University Council includes: “the President; the Vice Presidents; Associate Vice Presidents who concurrently hold faculty rank; the Registrar; the Director of Libraries; all deans; all department chairpersons; all of the benefited faculty of any rank, including lecturer, instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, and professor; program directors, coordinators, assistant and associate deans who concurrently hold faculty rank; professional librarians; and such other academic personnel and administrative officers as the Council may designate” (https://und.edu/academics/university-senate/_files/docs/university-senate/us-constitution.pdf).
