Wilkins Lecture Oct. 29 features talk on Cora Smith Eaton, UND early instructor and suffrage movement leader

To mark the centennial of the 19th Amendment, the 2020 Robert P. Wilkins lecture will feature Kristin Mapel Bloomberg, Hamline University Professor of Women’s Studies and Endowed Chair in the Humanities, 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 CDT.

“‘In the thickest of the fray’: Cora Smith Eaton and the Struggle for Woman Suffrage in North Dakota” will highlight one of UND’s first graduates and early instructors, who also became a leader in the state suffrage movement.

A dedication ceremony for Grand Forks’ new National Votes for Women Trail Marker will precede the lecture.
