UND will offer COVID-19 vaccinations in phases

As COVID-19 vaccinations begin across the state and nation, we wanted to inform you about the process at the University of North Dakota.

For UND, Student Health Services is a registered provider for the COVID-19 vaccine, and is following prioritization established by the North Dakota Department of Health.

Who is eligible?

Due to the limited amount of vaccine, the NDDoH has prioritized all health care providers (including those in training, such as nursing and medical students) to receive the vaccine during Phase 1A. Visit the NDDoH website for more information on the COVID-19 Vaccine Priority Groups.

The NDDoH plans to have all those identified in the first phase vaccinated over the next several weeks. Members of the next phases have been identified, and those people will be offered the vaccine as additional allocations are received.

Are vaccines required? 

At this time, UND is not requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for faculty, staff or students, including for those eligible under the Phase 1A guidelines. However, if any eligible individual also works in another health care setting that requires the vaccine, they should follow that employer’s policies.

What is UND’s vaccination process?

Student Health is working directly with UND departments to identify individuals who fall into the NDDoH’s Phase 1A eligibility guidelines. Eligible individuals will receive an email by Wednesday, Jan. 6, with a survey to indicate their interest in obtaining the COVID vaccine at Student Health.

If you think you qualify to be part of the first phase and you do NOT receive an email notification from Student Health by Wednesday, Jan. 6, please email UND.studenthealth@UND.edu.

As supplies become available, Student Health will administer the vaccine to students, faculty and staff as directed by NDDoH’s prioritization.

Please note this is a fluid situation. At this time, Student Health does not know when or how many doses of the vaccine will be available to UND.
