University Children’s Learning Center has preschool childcare openings

The University Children’s Learning Center has preschool childcare openings available.

UCLC is licensed through the state of North Dakota as a childcare and preschool for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old. The program is part of the ND Bright and Early quality enhancement program and is in the process of re-certifying as a Step 4 Program, which is the highest rank that is available.

UCLC is  centered around emergent curriculum lessons that are planned based on topics/themes derived from children’s interests observed by teachers, or by children’s developmental needs. Within the constructs of the curriculum, social skills, motor skills, cognitive skills,  language and pre-literacy skills, and more are infused into the lessons. Teachers regularly ask open-ended questions related to the topic, using that as the foundation to build curriculum that scaffolds children’s learning, enlarging their knowledge about the topics while completing lessons that require many of the skills as listed previously.

If you’d like a tour of the Learning Center or to learn more information about the program please call  701-777-3947 or email uclc@und.edu.
