UND Vivo and Wind Ensemble Chamber Players concert is Nov. 3

The University of North Dakota Vivo Chamber Choir and Wind Ensemble Chamber Players will present a combined concert on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Hughes Fine Arts Center.

The performance, free and open to the public (masks required), will also be live-streamed and can be found on the UND Music Department website.

The Wind Ensemble Chamber Players, conducted by James Popejoy, will open the concert with Arith-Metric No. 1 by Brian Balmages. They will also perform an arrangement of music from George Bizet’s “Carmen” by Yasuhide Ito. Graduate conductor Juanita Caballero will lead the ensemble in Hirokazu Fukushima’s Snow of an Aynu Village. Vivo, conducted by Melanie Popejoy will present a program that includes Bruremarsj, a Norwegian Wedding March; a modern day madrigal, Sweet Phoebe; the Newfoundland folk song Maid on the Shore; Coffee Calling; and When She Loved Me from “Toy Story 3.” They will close the concert with a tribute to legendary musician Aretha Franklin.
