May 13 video message from President Armacost and Provost Link

A week of celebration

President Armacost is joined by Provost Link as UND celebrates commencements and the accomplishments of students and faculty.

It’s one of his favorite weeks of the year, Armacost says, as we recognize the more than 2,000 graduates who are going out to make their mark on the world.

Commencements for the School of Medicine & Health Sciences and School of Law were last Saturday, and they are looking forward to undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies tomorrow, Saturday, May 14.

The speaker is General John “Jay” Raymond, U.S. Space Force Chief. His wife, Mollie, a UND grad, will receive the President’s Medal.

Honorary degrees will be bestowed upon Food Network star and local resident Molly Yeh, business leader and philanthropist Henry Herr, and entrepreneur Delore Zimmerman during the afternoon ceremony.

In the morning, the graduate degrees commencement will include the presentation of two new Chester Fritz Distinguished Professors, UND’s highest academic honor. They are Sean Valentine in Management and Glenda Lindseth in Nursing. Julia Zhao of Chemistry will be recognized at summer commencement.
