EXTREME THIRST?

Dehydration occurs when you use or lose more fluid than you take in.  Your body doesn’t have enough water and other fluids to carry out its normal functions.  Dehydration can occur in any age group if you don’t drink enough water during hot weather and/or if you are exercising vigorously.

Dehydration can also result in mood change, cause your body to overheat, constipate or increase the likelihood of getting kidney stones. In fact, the National Hydration Council attributes that 1 in 10 cases of tiredness are caused by dehydration.

“The rule of thumb is, if you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated.  So keep well hydrated by drinking plenty of water, even before you begin your outdoor activity,” said Dr. Irvin Sulapas, a primary care sports medicine physician and assistant professor of family and medicine at Baylor.

So…DON’T stay thirsty my friends!
