How much water should you be consuming?!

Adult females should consume 91 ounces/day (73 ounces from beverages, 18 ounces from food). Adult males should consume 121 ounces/day (97 ounces from beverage, 24 ounces from food).

Tips for staying hydrated throughout the day:

• Keep a reusable water bottle at work and on your desk

• Sip water throughout the day

• Set an alarm or use an app on your phone to remind you to drink water (e.g. My Water and Drink Water Reminder)

• Add sugar-free flavoring for sliced fruit to your water to keep it appealing

• Eat more foods high in water (e.g. lettuce 96% water, celery and zucchini 95% water, and watermelon 91% water) 

• Drink one glass of water when you wake up and before bedtime

• Add crushed red pepper to your food, as this spice will increase your need for water, and studies show peppers boost your metabolism
