What's up your butt?  Colorectal cancer, also known as colon cancer, is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths and the third most common cancer that affects both men and women.  Sounds a bit scary… don’t worry… you can get screened! About 9 out of every 10 people whose colon cancer was found early and treated are still alive five years later. Click here to learn more.


What's New?!

Hey! WATER you up to?! Drinking enough water everyday is good for overall health! Plain drinking water has zero calories, helps with managing body weight and reduces caloric intake when substituted for drinks with calories (like regular soda).  Registration starts today! The challenge runs from March 3rd - March 30th. Click here to register!

Join Work Well as we host a heart health presentation given by Dr. Joshua Wynne.  Dr. Wynne will kick off American Heart Month by sharing the determinants of heart disease and tips to reduce risk. Thursday, March 14th @ 10:00 am at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Room E226. Crock Pot Cooking: Leave work on Friday with a tasty homemade dinner in hand for FOUR! From savory to refreshing, these recipes are sure to keep you coming back for more.  Please register by noon the day before, cost is $20. Click here to register!

When the students are away, Faculty and Staff can play!  Enjoy a FREE week membership at the Wellness Center from March 10th to the 17th. Stop in and show your UND or government issued photo ID to access the facility.  This offer cannot be used to extend a current membership.

The UND Rock Wall will be open to the Campus and public for climbing with No Membership required! Children of all ages (we have harnesses for toddlers/small children, fit not guaranteed) will be able to visit and climb the Rock Wall. Stop by and give it a try on Sunday, March 24th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Cost $10/family.

The Sex and Drugs Show uses intervention theater to challenge thinking on complex issues surrounding substance use, sexual communications and sexual assault. This event is free & open to the UND Campus Community. Faculty, please consider incentivizing students who attend with extra credit. Click here to learn more.

Grand Forks USDA Human Nutrition Research Center:
Participate in a research study!  USDA is looking for volunteers to participate in studies to improve their understanding of the health roles of food and physical activity.  Volunteers are essential partners in their research and are paid honoraria for their participation.



It's a new calendar year!! Remember to take your annual LifeScore Health Assessment so you can receive your Fitness Center Reimbursement and be eligible to earn a $250 wellness benefit ($500 per household).

As Faculty and Staff (and maybe even parents of your own students), you have access to Student Advocate.  It is written specifically for Faculty, Staff and Parents and is a publication put out by Student Health 101. The content is updated each month and is a great way to stay in the loop!
