Signal repairs to close east intersection of University Avenue and North 42nd Street starting June 17

The following was issued as a campus notification on Tuesday, June 11.

Starting Monday, June 17, the eastern intersection between University Avenue and North 42^nd Street will be closed for approximately 30 days.

The closure will allow for the City of Grand Forks to refurbish traffic signals in the area.

During construction, the remainder of the intersection will become a three-way stop to allow for pedestrians to safely cross North 42^nd Street.

A detour route has been established for westbound traffic on University Avenue. Signage will direct vehicles to turn north on Stanford Road, then west on 6^th Avenue to reach North 42^nd Street. From there, traffic can go south to get back to University Avenue.

Localized traffic will be able to drive between Stanford Road and North 42^nd Street to access campus buildings and UND housing, but there will be no exit onto North 42^nd Street from University Avenue during the closure.
