On Monday, March 18, 2024, UND hosted its first-ever Disability Awareness Day at the Memorial Union. The event was the brainchild of Dr. Lee Ann Williams, program director of Inclusive Rehabilitation Sciences in the College of Education and Human Development. The event was a day of learning that benefitted the entire UND community.

International guest Dr. Alan Bruce, CEO & Director of Universal Learning Systems, was the keynote speaker and spoke about disability awareness and creating a more inclusive community.

In addition to the keynote, students from across campus presented a total of 34 posters examining disability and disability awareness from a variety of angles and perspectives. Several community agencies were also on hand to provide assistive information and services related to disability.

Several media outlets covered the event:

Kudos to Dr. Williams for envisioning and putting together this dynamic event!
