CEM Dean’s Administrative Team Announced

The following appointments have been announced, all of which have been converted from interim appointments.

Bailey Bubach will serve as Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinating advising, course registration, degree audits, petitions, and grievances.
  • Working with faculty to develop and revise CEM policies and procedures
  • Providing support to the Academic Programs Committee and Graduate Programs Committee
  • Optimizing recruiting and outreach activities to increase enrollment
  • Coordinating college agreements with national and international entities
  • Providing general oversight of the Solberg Family Student Success Center
  • Managing the Online Teaching Support Unit

Mike Mann will serve as Associate Dean for Research. Mike will also continue to lead IES. This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative oversight and approval for proposal submittal
  • Developing a strategy to increase research activity in the college
  • Representing the Dean as requested at meetings/events
  • Leading the CEM Research Council
  • Managing the CEM Research Support Unit

Will Semke will serve as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. His duties will include the following:

  • Coordinating curriculum-related matters including the approval of new programs/courses, program reviews, etc.
  • Leading the Academic Programs Committee and Graduate Programs Committee
  • Monitoring the academic procedures and policies of the college
  • Representing the Dean as requested at meetings/events
  • Coordinating the production of required academic reports
  • Providing oversight of ENGR courses and the new Systems Engineering Program
  • Supervising the new Undergraduate and Graduate Programs Coordinator positions

Note: With his new role, Dr. Semke will be stepping down as Chair of Mechanical Engineering.  We will soon begin the process of naming the next Chair, which I hope to have wrapped up in the next month. I want to thank Will for his excellent leadership of our largest department over the past few years.
