Student Opportunity: CEM Student Ambassador Program

The CEM Student Ambassador program is a leadership opportunity for current college students who are dedicated to the next generation of engineers, geologists, and computer scientists. The College of Engineering and Mines is seeking outgoing, high-achieving, and energetic students to assist in outreach activities and recruiting students.

The role of the CEM  ambassador is to work directly with the Outreach/Recruiting office to support all departments/schools within recruiting and outreach efforts. These events are located remote or on-campus. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience and develop strong leadership and professional skills. Training is provided.

These positions are open to all disciplines within CEM – including current undergraduate or graduate, distance, on-campus, or transfer students that have a passion for engineering and science. Must be sophomore level or above.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet prospective students for tours (remote or on-campus).
  • Take part in a zoom session with prospective students.
  • Help prospective students become familiar with our program and buildings by providing tours.
  • Write postcards and emails to prospective students.
  • Develop outreach initiatives, and represent CEM in the community and on campus.
  • Create activities for high school level prospective students.
  • Develop visuals for prospective student tours (such as prototypes), and stage items/projects for these tours.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check

Work Location

Engineering buildings and JODSAAS Center

Hours & Schedule

  • Daytime, some evenings and some weekends
