Bio:

Stefano Mazzoni is a geoscientist currently based in Houston. He has spent more than 18 years in the hydrocarbon exploration and production industry, working with conventional and unconventional plays both domestically and internationally. Throughout his career, he has been employed by ExxonMobil, Occidental, California Resources Corp., and NEOS GeoSolutions. For the last three years, he has contracted for Sanchez and BHP through his consulting business Mazzoni Geoscience LLC. He has worked in Houston, Bakersfield, Calif., and the San Francisco Bay Area and has studied the subsurface of many basins across the globe. He is an active member of AAPG and SPE, has been involved in PSAAPG, SJGS, NCGS, and is a lifetime member of AWG. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Earth Science from the University of California Santa Cruz and is a licensed professional geologist in Texas and California. He is passionate about solving technical problems through teamwork and innovation, structural geology, organizing field trips and training programs, professional service, and development.
