By winter 2025, pending fundraising and a cleared site, work will begin on a new complex hosting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) teaching and research facilities. The proposed complex will bring together several labs spread throughout multiple buildings.

On February 10, UND held the North Dakota FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Robotics State Championship. Bringing together talented 9-14-year-olds from across North Dakota, the championship was held at the UND Memorial Union and was open to the public.

The event, hosted by the College of Engineering & Mines, saw the ballroom transformed into a battleground of sorts, as the students pitted their robots against one another in completing a series of timed tasks. The Harry Nyquist Memorial is a tribute to a UND electrical engineering graduate who went on to define critical understandings of communication systems. Known for being an incredible student, he had an amazingly productive career post-graduation. Throughout his career, he was a respected inventor and scientist who significantly impacted the modern communication systems we take for granted today.
