CQ Researcher Trial

The Chester Fritz Library has an exciting opportunity to test out a new resource that comprehensively summarizes current debates on the timeliest issues! CQ Researcher will be available for students, faculty, and staff to test until the end of March. This resource provides users with information available on a variety of topics. Topics include but are not limited to business & economics, social issues, education, government, energy & environment, and health. Many reports can provide timelines, charts, overviews, and contextual arguments representing both sides of the debate and recommends external articles that further expand the topic. Researchers briefly can see other reports of similar interest dating all the way back to 1923.

Professional journalists publish weekly reports in CQ Researcher that reflect the “hottest topic” in public policy. Framing of the reports depends on the issue at hand, but all reports have been fact-checked and provide footnotes for credibility. Users could browse by topic or by date, and keyword searching offers additional reports that might not otherwise show up in the browse by sections. If you have questions about using CQ Researcher, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your subject librarian. We encourage feedback from students, faculty, and staff — please use this feedback survey to help us evaluate the product.
