Resources at CFL for a Stronger Semester
Make the most of the Chester Fritz Library this semester! Whether studying or looking for something fun to do, the CFL has a wide range of resources to explore.
Academic Resources
Meet with One of Our Reference Librarians!
Reference librarians are a great resource for students who struggle with finding the right citations and references. They are trained to point you in the right direction while you conduct research for your assignments. Our reference librarians are trained to assist students in different majors, from psychology to aviation to literature.
Tutoring Services
Chester Fritz offers drop-in tutoring hours for Finance 310 and Accounting 200/201. Check out the days and times you can meet with a tutor here.
Databases
This is a collection of research databases recommended by our reference librarians, with free access for currently enrolled UND students.

Research for an assignment, explore global news reports or read out of simple interest. The New York Times has a diverse range of subjects, from politics to technology to entertainment. Whether in podcast or article form, “The Times,” is a collection of high-quality journalism.
Additionally, students have access to TimesMachine, an archive of The New York Times articles, dating back from 1851.

Academic Video Online is an online video library. With a wealth of popular channels such as PBS and BBC Landmark to Sony Picture Classics, students may use the library for research purposes or entertainment.

Academic Search Ultimate is an academic resource for students and professionals across every discipline which gathers journals, articles, and books from across sixty different databases.
Relaxing at the Library
Board Games and Board Game Night
CFL will begin hosting “board game nights,” every second Wednesday of the month, from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M., starting September 11th.

At CFL, we have a wide collection of board games that students can check out for up to a week. Checkout Catan, a game of dice and cards where players attempt to settle land or it’s shelf neighbor Wingspan, a game of habitat preservation.
Want an activity to bond with your new roommates over? Sign is a role-playing game where you can create your own sign language. Or, cozy up with Sagrada, and build your own stained glass masterpiece at home!

Tech & Tools Library

Much of the time, college students have a hobby or interest they’d like to pursue, but budgeting can often get in the way these new interests. With this in mind, the Chester Fritz Library developed the Tech & Tools library, a collection of of devices, games, and tools for students to check out free of charge. We have wellness items, such as our gratitude guide and meditation mat, handy for exam week; GoPro and Canon cameras students interested in photography, as well as household items such as cookie cutters in mixing bowls for those interested in baking.

Seed Library

The seed library is the most recent addition to the Tech & Tool library. Sponsored by GRO.UND and CFL itself, this is an assortment of seeds, many of which are native to the Great Plains. Students may also choose to donate seeds to the library. If you don’t have any of your own gardening tools, we have a set you can check out through the Tech & Tools collection.
