\"DSC_3495-02c\"<\/a>The week of April 12-18 is National Library Week. The CFL staff is celebrating the week with several events. We invite you to join us.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, April 14 is National Library Workers Day. This is a day to recognize the contributions of all library workers. At 10:30 am Library Staff will be serving cake in the lobby. Come meet some of the many library workers, students, professionals, and full-time staff who provide you with library services.<\/p>\n

\u201cLibrary Use and Student Success\u201d is the title of a presentation on Wednesday, April 15, at 10 a.m. in the East Asian Room of the Chester Fritz Library. Shane Nackerud, a librarian and technology lead at the University of Minnesota, will present research findings which show a positive correlation between student use of library resources, student retention, and ultimate success in graduation. Mr. Nackerud will offer suggestions that can be applied to UND\u2019s own retention initiatives.<\/p>\n

Celebrate Young Adult Literature Day on Thursday, April 16. This day is aimed at raising awareness among the general public that young adult literature is a vibrant, growing genre with much to offer today’s young adults. Library staff will be in the lobby from 2:00 \u2013 4:00 pm to provide reading advice and demonstrate how to use NoveList to find recommended books. Visit our Young Adult and Popular reading Collection located in the Reading Room and read a book.<\/p>\n

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
