The 2025 University of North Dakota College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines<\/a> (CNPD) Research and Scholarship Day<\/a> celebrated student scholarly work in Nursing<\/a>, Nutrition and Dietetics<\/a>, and Social Work<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have such a great variety of topics today, and posters from all three of our departments in the college,” stated CNPD Dean Dr. Maridee Shogren in opening remarks. “Today is an opportunity for our students and our faculty to learn together and celebrate the work that not only goes into research, but informs the practice of every one of our disciplines. Shogren commented that great work is happening at the CNPD, “and today gives us just a snapshot of the impact that every one of you is making.”<\/p>\n

In addition to the in-person poster presentations, online participating students submitted video presentations<\/strong>, which remain available for viewing through the CNPD Research & Scholarship Day Catalog<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Student Poster Awards Highlight Creativity and Impact<\/h2>\n

Throughout the in-person event, attendees and faculty were invited to vote for a Crowd Favorite<\/strong> and Faculty Favorite<\/strong> poster award from each discipline represented. Finalists were announced after the poster presentation portion of the event.<\/p>\n

Honoring Faculty Excellence<\/h2>\n

Associate Dean Dr. Christina Erickson presented the annual CNPD Faculty Research and Scholarship Contribution Awards.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Faculty Research & Scholarship Contribution Award in the Tenure-Track Faculty category<\/strong> was awarded to Dr. Nathaniel Johnson<\/strong>, Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Johnson had a very robust year of scholarship and shared that scholarship with various audiences,\u201d Dr. Erickson shared during the presentation, noting that competition for the award was \u201cvery tight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Johnson\u2019s accomplishments over the past year included multiple peer-reviewed publications, invited presentations, funded research grants, community engagement through professional and public-facing publications, and media interviews.<\/p>\n
