Informational newsletter from the UND Office of Admissions

Are you ready for UND Orientation?

Things are about to get real — and real quick. Reservations for New Student Orientation open at 9 a.m. (CST) Jan. 26 for all students enrolled in summer or fall 2019.

Orientation is the day between June 10 and July 18 when most students and their parents/guests get their first taste of modern life on the UND campus. It’s also the day students meet one on one with academic advisors to discuss goals and register for classes.

And while students are doing their own thing, parents get the chance to ask ALL THE QUESTIONS THEY WANT (without random eyeball rolls) about student services, financial aid, housing and more. Lunch and walking tours also are part of the day.

You won’t want to miss it. But before you can make your reservation, you’ll need to confirm your UND enrollment at least two business days in advance. You also need to pay the $200 nonrefundable confirmation deposit. (This is not an extra charge. It will be applied toward your UND bill.)

Different orientation days are designed for specific majors, but don’t worry if your student is undecided yet. That’s perfectly normal, and we recommend you attend one of the Arts & Sciences sessions. You can find a full schedule of all academic focus days on our website.

You’ll also find a handy checklist of what you should bring with you and what you should do before arriving at Orientation.
