Top seniors get shot at early nursing admission

Nurses are in high demand nationwide and the Department of Nursing at the University of North Dakota has educated nurses for over 100 years and continues to produce some of the finest nursing graduates in the nation. Every fall, UND offers high-achieving high school seniors placement in the nursing program through the direct admission program.

As many as 20 qualified seniors will be selected for an admission placement at UND.

High school students who want to be considered for early admission first must apply for UND admission as a senior and declare Nursing as their major on the admission application. They also must:

• Achieve a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Earn a composite ACT score of at least 27 or a combined SAT score of at least 1280 in the previous two years.

The selection process begins in November for the following year, and priority will be given to early applications. Students who are not selected for direct admission are encouraged to apply for admission to the nursing program through the standard admission process.
