Director’s welcome

Happy fall!

I hope you were able to enjoy some time off this summer and that your school year is off to a great start! At the University of North Dakota, we’re so excited to see students in person and busy learning in the classrooms and finding their passion through student organizations and activities. Our fall semester headcount is up over the last couple of years, with the incoming class up 8.7%!

The University of North Dakota will continue to be “test blind” through at least summer 2023, meaning that the University is not requiring an ACT or SAT score for admission. However, we still encourage students to take the ACT or SAT if they’re able, because some external scholarships still may require that score. In addition, if they’ve taken a standardized exam, they should send their scores to UND to assist in course placement for math and English.

Due to being test blind, we’ve adjusted our automatic academic scholarships to be based on GPA alone, with students who earned a 3.5+ cumulative high school GPA automatically eligible for scholarships at UND!

You and your student are welcome to visit campus during our Fall Open House either Oct. 21 or Oct. 22, as well as any weekday and select Saturdays throughout the year to see what all UND has to offer. Virtual visits also are available. From our new biomedical engineering degree to our aviation program to business, education, health care and everything in between, there really is something for everyone. Encourage your student to visit campus to find the right fit!

Wishing you a safe and healthy school year!
