Apply for Scholarships and Housing
Once students are admitted to UND, they should take these next steps to get ready to join the Fighting Hawks family!
Claim Account
To gain access to many of the systems UND students need, your student must activate their account within the North Dakota University System (NDUS).
- Go to UND.edu/claim
- They should find their student ID number (also known as EMPLID) on their acceptance letter or by following the steps under the “Find my EMPLID” menu.
- Click “Claim Your Account.”
- Follow the steps as indicated.
Once they’ve claimed their account, they don’t have to go through the process again. Make sure to keep the username and password in a safe and secure place. Your student will use this username and password for other UND systems, such as housing, class registration and financial aid.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Act fast to cash in on UND’s Scholarship Central. Our all -in-one application for more than 975 scholarships is open!
Admitted students can fill out one easy application, and the database automatically matches them with all the UND scholarships for which they qualify. Students don’t have to write 975 cover letters or ask dozens of people to write nice things about them.
Incoming students must apply by the Feb. 1 deadline.
Note: The Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to award other types of financial aid, including loans, grants and employment. UND will notify students and parents when the 2024-25 FAFSA is open, which is anticipated to be in December.
HOUSING
All first-year freshmen are required to live on campus for their first full academic year or receive an approved exemption. Quickness counts. And with two new residence halls (McVey & West) and a newly renovated Brannon hall, the options have never been better.
Get an inside look at housing options today with a virtual tour.
Students who apply for housing by the March 1 priority deadline will get dibs on the first round of residence hall selection.
