Help Navigate College with 1stG
Do you have students who will be the first ones in their families to attend a four-year college? UND recently started a new first-generation student initiative to help new students navigate college life.
UND 1stG links first-generation college students with UND faculty, administrators and staff in the College of Arts & Sciences who were themselves first-generation college students. Being the first in your family to attend a four-year college can bring a special set of needs and challenges. UND 1stG faculty understand those challenges and can help first-generation students build relationships for a positive and successful college experience.
UND1stG hosts events for first-generation students to develop a sense of community and get to know the 1stG faculty and staff members.
First Generation Student Orientation
UND is holding a first-generation student Orientation on June 29 for all first-generation students regardless of major. This Orientation is a great way to meet other first-generation students and for students to get all their questions answered before classes start. Reservations for Orientation open on January 27. Students must pay their enrollment confirmation deposits at least 2 days before making a reservation.
