Healthcare professionals use AI to enble more accurate, faster diagnoses in patients. Retail businesses use it to offer personalized customer shopping experiences. Automakers use it to make personal vehicles, share mobility, and deliver services safer and more efficient. Deep learning is a powerful AI approach that uses multi-layered artificial neural networks to deliver state-of-the-art accuracy in tasks such as object detection, speech recognition, and language translation. Using deep learning, computers can learn and recognize patterns from data that are considered too complex or subtle for expert-written software.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Workshop Agenda:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Introduction (30 mins)<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Mechanics of Deep Learning (3 hours)\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Train your first computer vision model to learn the process of training.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Introduce convolutional neural networks to improve accuracy of prediction in vision applications.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Apply data augmentation to enhance a dataset and improve model generalization.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Break (1 hour)<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Pre-trained Models and Large Language Models (1.5 hours)\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Integrate a pre-trained image classification model to create an automatic doggy door.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Leverage transfer learning to create a personalized doggy door that only lets in your dog.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Use a Large Language Model (LLM) to answer questions based on provided text.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Break (15 mins)<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Final Project: Object Classification (1 hour)\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Create and train a model that interprets color images.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Build a data generator to make the most out of small datasets.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Improve training speed by combining transfer learning and feature extraction.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Discuss advanced neural network architectures and recent areas of research where students can further improve their skills.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Final Review (30 minutes)\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Review key learnings and answer questions.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Complete the assessment and earn a certificate.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Complete the workshop survey.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Learn how to set up your own AI application development environment.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prerequisites:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An understanding of fundamental programming concepts in <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.python.org\/moin\/BeginnersGuide\">Python 3<\/a>, such as functions, loops, dictionaries, and arrays; familiarity with <a href=\"https:\/\/pandas.pydata.org\/pandas-docs\/stable\/user_guide\/dsintro.html\">Pandas data structures<\/a>; and an understanding of how to compute a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stat.yale.edu\/Courses\/1997-98\/101\/linreg.htm\">regression line<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Suggested materials to satisfy prerequisites: <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.python.org\/moin\/BeginnersGuide\">Python Beginner\u2019s Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/DV7pf9t7cdUU3j8c6\"><strong>REGISTER NOW<\/strong><\/a> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Space is limited to 25 participants.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questions?
