Erin Follman to give Surgery Grand Rounds talk on sepsis May 10

Erin Follman, MD, a PGY-II resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Sepsis in the Postoperative Patient” at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019. All are welcome to attend.

The objectives of Dr. Follman’s talk are:

  • Explain the inflammatory response leading to sepsis
  • Define Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS), sepsis, and septic shock
  • Promptly identify signs and symptoms and postoperative sepsis
  • Apply the surviving sepsis campaign recommendations for management of sepsis

This Surgery Grand Rounds Conference, sponsored by the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences Department of Surgery, is broadcast via videoconference to many sites in North Dakota and Minnesota.
