Shane Knutson

Shane Knutson is a the new research specialist at the Center for Rural Health (CRH) at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks. In this role, Shane coordinates and facilitates data collection, prepares written reports of data findings, collaborates with statewide partners, and disseminates information to rural health stakeholders. Originally from Bottineau, N.D., Shane attended UND, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology with a minor in deaf studies.

“Growing up on a farm in North Dakota, I’ve seen how great small towns and farming communities can be, as well as the issues that they face,” Knutson said. “I’m glad to be part of a team where I can do meaningful work and give back to the rural communities that I grew up with.”

Prior to joining the CRH, he worked as a registered behavior tech at the Anne Carlsen Center in Grand Forks. His supervisor is Mandi Peterson.
