Holly Brown-Borg elected to Gerontological Society of America Board of Directors

Holly Brown-Borg, Ph.D., FGSA, professor in the SMHS Department of Biomedical Sciences, has been elected to the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) Board of Directors. New GSA board members and other officers were chosen by GSA’s membership, which consists of more than 5,500 researchers, educators, and practitioners. The officers are responsible for matters of governance and strategic planning and will assume their new roles on January 1, 2020. The full announcement can be read online here.

The mission of the GSA is: 1) to promote the conduct of multi- and interdisciplinary research in aging by expanding the quantity of gerontological research and by increasing its funding resources; 2) to disseminate gerontological research knowledge to researchers, to practitioners, and to decision and opinion makers; and 3) to promote, support, and advocate for aging
education, and education and training in higher education.
