Phase-one and second-year med students recognize six faculty for Outstanding Instructor Awards

In recognition of outstanding performance in the encouragement, enrichment, and education of tomorrow’s physicians, the medical classes of 2023 and 2024 have recognized six faculty for Outstanding Instructor Awards in Unified Session III and Block VI of the 2020-21 academic year.

The Class of 2023 (Year 2) Block VI awardees are the following individuals:

• Rhome Hughes, M.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology
• Walter Kemp, M.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology
• Mark Koponen, M.D., Associate Professor, Department of Pathology

The Class of 2024 (Phase 1) Unified Session III awardees are the following individuals:

• Holly Brown-Borg, Ph.D., Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor, Department of Biomedical Sciences
• Colin Combs, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Biomedical Sciences
• Kurt Borg, Ph.D., Director of Assessment, Department of Education Resources, and Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Sciences
